FIS Race Director, Hannes Trinkl confirmed the Hahnenkamm Races during the FIS snow control this morning. Trinkl gave the “green light” for the legendary races at Hahnenkamm.

The continuous warm weather in parts of central Europe has unfortunately forced another change on the Nordic Combined World Cup calendar of 2015/16.

2015 has come to a close and with it, so has hopefully the unseasonably warm weather that has challenged many of our Organisers in much of the Northern Hemisphere during the early period of the season.

The Organising Committee of the Innsbruck 2016 International Children’s Games (ICG) feels strongly about ecological, economic and social sustainability and it has received the “Green Event Tirol” certification.

The 4-Hills-Tournament is not over yet, but the next big highlight of the winter is already just around the corner: The Ski Flying World Championships from January 14th to 17th.

After several weeks of uncertainty, the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup has worked out its post-holiday schedule, rescheduling the previously cancelled Watles (ITA) event while striking the planned La Plagne (FRA) off the calendar for good.

Despite the unusual warm temperatures over the festive season, FIS Officials were able to confirm that both parallel races which are scheduled for Bad Gastein on January 8th and 9th, 2016, will take place.

Unseasonably warm weather in Central Europe and the North American East Coast this winter has caused a number of cancellations or race changes to the World Cup calendar across nearly every discipline.

After the World Cup events in Klingenthal (02./03.01.) were cancelled due to warm temperatures and lack of snow also the second German event in Schonach in the Schwarzwald region, which was set to take place on the 9th and 10th of Janurary, had to be cancelled today.

There was more unfortunate news on the FIS Freestyle World Cup circuit today, as it was announced that the aerials and moguls World Cup events slated for New York state's Lake Placid from January 14-16 were cancelled due to a lack of snow and enduring warm temperatures on the USA's east coast.
