


Serving as an excellent opportunity to learn and share, the annual FIS Leaders’ Seminar for the FIS developing ski nations will be held during the 50th FIS Congress week in Cancun (MEX).

In less than two weeks, the extended FIS family will travel to Mexico for the 50th International Ski Congress from 5th-11th June 2016.

Local Organisers of the Snowboard World Cup season's first big air event have announced that the competition staged in the SparkassenPark Moenchengladbach will be extended to a double World Cup event also hosting a big air contest for the Freestyle Skiing World Cup tour.

An international Anti-Corruption Summit attended by 40 nations which gathered 11 world leaders was organised by British Prime Minister David Cameron on 12th May 2016 in London (GBR).

Every two years the FIS SnowKidz Award is a focal point of the Bring Children to the Snow campaign. The Award aims to recognise and promote the best examples of the programme.

From 9th-11th May 2016, FIS Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard staff, representatives from FIS Marketing AG and Infront Sports & Media conducted their third Coordination Group meeting for the 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada (SPA) which will be held from 6th-19th March 2017.


The 50th International Ski Congress in Cancun (MEX) will elect the sixteen members of the FIS Council for the next two-year period from 2016-2018. The member National Ski Associations have proposed the following candidates by the deadline of 6th May 2016:

At the invitation of FIS, TV producers representing the main broadcasters along with the European Broadcasting Union and Infront Sports & Media as well as FIS timing and data partner, Swiss Timing, gathered in Zurich (SUI) for the FIS World Cup Broadcaster Meeting on 2nd May 2016.
